To accommodate everyone’s
schedules, we have decided to switch the day of placement from Tuesday to
Wednesday. What’s one more day,
right? As of today, nothing has changed
with the legal situation, which is good news.
As long as nothing changes between now and Wednesday afternoon, we’ll be
bringing baby girl home late in the day on Wednesday!
We had a lovely visit with
baby girl and foster mamma on Friday afternoon, and she shared all sorts of
information with us about routines that baby girl is used to, what she enjoys the
most, etc. It was wonderful to get that
information so that in the midst of so much transition for baby girl, we can
keep as much “normal” for her as possible.
The best part, though, was watching foster mamma and baby girl
interact. We haven’t seen them together
too much other than the hand-off for our weekly visits, and it was so special
to spend a bit more time with them and watch the way they interact with each
other. Can we bring BOTH of them home with
us Wednesday?
This weekend, we are doing lots of cleaning,
switching cars since that will make more sense with a carseat and with Jason’s
new commute, clearing our work and personal calendars as much as possible,
trying to stock up on sleep (which hasn’t been happening much recently), and
trying to finish up a bunch of random things on the to-do list so that we don’t
have to worry about them once she comes home. And maybe, if we’re lucky, we’ll clear up some
time for a dip at the pool. :)
